Manvel, TX, off Highway 288 near Highway 6, is home to the latest subdivision in Brazoria County. Manvel's original name - Pomona - is going to be the name of its newest development.
Pomona will encompass more than 1000 acres with 2100 lots bordered by 288 on the west, CR 48 to the east, Southfork subdivision to the north, and CR 58 on the south side.
Areas are planned in and around Pomona for schools in the Alvin Independent School District, a recreation center, lakes, trails, plus shopping and restaurants.

CR 101 (Bailey Road) will become the 4-lane Pomona Parkway.
Pomona's developers and builders, Hillwood Communities along with McGuyer Homebuilders, plan to have model homes ready by early next year. 300 homes are planned by Coventry Homes, David Weekly Homes, Highland Homes, Plantation Homes and Trendmaker Homes.
